California Love, Los Angeles Rams Are Super Bowl LVI Champions!

On Sunday the hometown Los Angeles Rams beat the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20, winning their second Super Bowl in franchise history.


Former UGA Alum Matthew Stafford secured his career moment on Sunday, leading a late fourth-quarter drive in the Super Bowl that ended with a go-ahead touchdown pass to  Cooper Kupp.

Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp was voted the winner of the Pete Rozelle Trophy awarded to the Super Bowl LVI Most Valuable Player.

Kupp recorded eight receptions for 92 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winning touchdown catch with 1:25 remaining in the fourth quarter. He also had seven rushing yards. He is the eighth wide receiver to be named Super Bowl MVP and the first since New England wide receiver JULIAN EDLEMAN in Super Bowl LIII.

Kupp joins Pro Football Hall of Famer JOE MONTANA (1989) as the only players to win Associated Press Offensive Player of the Year and Super Bowl Most Valuable Player in the same season.

The halftime show was explosive, starring Dr Dre, Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar and Eminem, and a surprise performance from 50 Cent.

With no eerie hologram, Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg paid tribute to a fellow West Coast Hip Hop icon Tupac Shakur when the duo performed “California Love,” the 1995 single from Tupac’s most well-known tracks that Dr Dre not only produced but was featured in the song. 50 cent performed his 2003 hit “In Da Club” partially hanging upside down, Anderson Paak played the drums during Eminem ‘s performance and at the end of his 2002 hit “Lose Yourself.” he took a knee as a unspoken salute to former San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick’s stance against police brutality and systemic racism. The queen of R&B Hip hop Mary J. Blige was decked out from head-to-toe in silver for her performances of “Family Affair” and “No More Drama,” Dressed in all black Kenderick Lamar performed, “m.A.A.d. City,” and “Alright.” Later on in the show, Dre took a seat behind a white piano and briefly played the beginning notes to Tupac’s “I Ain’t Mad At Cha.” You can watch the full Halftime performance here.

Marriage Proposals and a Baby- Just when you thought the big win could not get any better, there was post game proposal from Rams safety Taylor Rapp to now-fiancée Danielle Johnson. Minutes after being crowned  Super Bowl LVI champions, Rams safety Taylor Rapp got on one knee and proposed to Danielle on the field.

25, Rams wide receiver Van Jefferson and his wife, Samaria Jefferson welcomed their second baby together on Sunday night, when Samaria went into labor during the game.

After the game, Jefferson, who caught four of eight targets for 23 yards, was seen quickly departing SoFi Stadium, and before midnight Van posted an Instagram Story of himself lying in a bed, holding the baby in his arms with the caption “X2!!!!!”

“It was a great day, bro,” Jefferson said on Instagram Live.  “I got three prizes today — my wife, my son and the Super Bowl.”

The ratings- On NBC, Telemundo, Peacock, NBC Sports Digital, NFL Digital platforms and Yahoo Sports mobile properties averaged a whooping 112.3 million viewers to rank as the most-watched show in five years – since Super Bowl LI in February 2017 (113.7 million TAD on Fox).
