Howard Headlines WNBA 3-Point Contest

Atlanta Dream star Rhyne Howard will once again showcase one of the league’s most dangerous long-range shots after being selected to compete in the State Farm® WNBA 3-Point Contest during AT&T WNBA All-Star 2026.

Howard headlines a talented six-player field that also includes Marina Mabrey of the Toronto Tempo, Azzi Fudd of the Dallas Wings, Bridget Carleton of the Portland Fire, Natisha Hiedeman of the Seattle Storm and Janelle Salaün of the Golden State Valkyries.

The annual shooting competition will take place Friday, July 24, at Wintrust Arena in Chicago and will air live at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN, Disney+, and the ESPN App. The event serves as the kickoff to All-Star Weekend ahead of the 2026 AT&T WNBA All-Star Game on Saturday, July 25, at the United Center.

Howard returns to the competition after making her first appearance as a rookie in 2022. This year’s contest features a mix of experienced veterans and first-time participants, with Fudd, Carleton, Hiedeman and Salaün all making their debuts.

The field is loaded with elite shooters.

Entering play on July 21, Mabrey leads the WNBA with 82 made three-pointers, while Howard sits right behind her with 79. Salaün ranks fifth with 67 made threes, Carleton is sixth with 65, Hiedeman is tied for seventh with 57, and Fudd rounds out the group tied for 10th with 50 made three-pointers.

This year’s event also introduces a new title sponsor, marking the first time State Farm has partnered with the WNBA’s premier shooting competition.

Along with the traditional shooting racks, fans will see the debut of the State Farm “From the Logo” shots, giving contestants the opportunity to earn three points by knocking down long-distance attempts from specially marked locations on the floor.

Each successful “From the Logo” basket will trigger the familiar State Farm jingle while also benefiting Girls Who Code Inc., as State Farm will make a charitable donation for every made shot.

The contest will once again feature two timed rounds. Players will shoot from five locations around the three-point arc, with four standard racks containing four game balls worth one point each and one orange-and-oatmeal “money ball” worth two points.

Contestants will also select where to place an all-money-ball rack, featuring five money balls valued at two points each, allowing shooters to maximize scoring from their favorite spot on the floor.

The top two scorers from the opening round will advance to the championship round to compete for the title.

Howard enters All-Star Weekend with plenty of momentum. The four-time All-Star has helped lead the Atlanta Dream to one of the league’s strongest first halves and will represent Atlanta alongside teammates Allisha Gray and Angel Reese during Saturday night’s All-Star Game.

Now, before taking the All-Star stage, Howard will have an opportunity to remind the basketball world why she’s considered one of the WNBA’s elite perimeter shooters—and perhaps bring another trophy back to Atlanta.
