After a stellar week on the court, Atlanta Vibe outside hitter Leah Edmond has been named the Pro Volleyball Federation (PVF) Player of the Week, presented by Franklin Sports. Edmond’s explosive play helped lead the Vibe to a 2-0 record, solidifying their position as a top contender in the league.
Edmond’s Standout Performances
Edmond wasted no time making her mark, delivering four service aces, 43 attacks, and 10 digs in a four-set victory over the Grand Rapids Rise on February 13. She followed up with an even more dominant performance on Sunday against the Indy Ignite, racking up 25 kills, 60 attacks, and 14 digs in a hard-fought 3-2 victory. Her 29-point performance was one of the most impressive individual efforts of the season.
With 23 total aces on the year, Edmond is now tied for second place in PVF history, proving she’s one of the league’s most dangerous offensive weapons. This is Edmond’s second career PVF Player of the Week honor and her first this season.
What’s Next for Edmond and the Vibe?
Edmond and the Atlanta Vibe will hit the road for a pair of key matchups this week. They face Indyonce again on Thursday, February 20, before traveling to Columbus for a showdown on Sunday, February 23.
In between those crucial matches, Edmond will also take center stage at the PVF All-Star Match on Saturday, February 22, where she’ll compete alongside the league’s best. Fans can catch all the action live on CBS at 1:30 p.m. ET.
Edmond Honored with Kendra Scott Award
As part of her Player of the Week recognition, Edmond will receive a Kendra Scott Volleyball Pendant Necklace in white mother-of-pearl. The award is part of PVF’s ongoing partnership with Kendra Scott, which is dedicated to empowering girls and young women through sports and leadership opportunities.
With her elite play and growing impact on the league, Edmond continues to make waves in the PVF, proving she’s a force to be reckoned with every time she steps on the court.
