Falcons Sign Wide Receiver Kristian Wilkerson, Release Troy Andersen

The Atlanta Falcons continued making adjustments to their roster, announcing the signing of veteran wide receiver Kristian Wilkerson. In a corresponding move, the team released inside linebacker Troy Andersen.

Wilkerson gives Atlanta another option at wide receiver as the Falcons continue preparing for the 2026 season.

Originally signed as an undrafted free agent following the 2020 NFL Draft, Wilkerson began his NFL career with the New England Patriots, spending the 2020 and 2021 seasons with the organization. He later joined the Las Vegas Raiders, where he spent the 2023 and 2024 seasons.

Through his NFL career, Wilkerson has appeared in nine games with two starts, recording six receptions for 60 yards and three touchdowns.

The move also marks the end of Andersen’s time in Atlanta. The Falcons selected the athletic linebacker in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of Montana State.

Andersen entered the league as an intriguing defensive prospect because of his rare combination of size, speed and versatility. However, injuries limited his availability during portions of his Falcons career.

With training camp underway and roster competition intensifying, the signing of Wilkerson adds another veteran presence to Atlanta’s receiving room, while the decision to move on from Andersen represents another change to the Falcons’ defensive personnel.

The Falcons will continue evaluating their roster throughout training camp as they work toward establishing their final 53-man roster for the 2026 season
