One Million Meals, One Atlanta

The Atlanta Hawks and State Farm are once again teaming up to make a difference across metro Atlanta with the return of the Million Meal Pack, inviting thousands of volunteers to help combat food insecurity on Saturday, September 26, at State Farm Arena.

Now in its sixth year, the Million Meal Pack has become the Hawks’ largest annual day of service. This year’s goal is to bring together more than 5,000 volunteers to package one million nutritious meals in a single day for individuals and families experiencing food insecurity throughout the Atlanta community.

The meals, consisting of a shelf-stable dried jambalaya mix that provides six hearty servings per package, will be distributed through U.S. Hunger, helping provide nutritious meals to families across metro Atlanta. According to the Atlanta Community Food Bank, one in eight people and one in six children in its service area are food insecure, making initiatives like this more important than ever.

Volunteer registration is now open at Hawks.com/mealpack, with individuals, families, schools, churches, businesses, fraternities, sororities, and community organizations all encouraged to participate. Volunteers must be at least five years old.

As a thank-you for giving back, every volunteer will receive access to the exclusive State Farm Street Fest following their shift. The volunteer-only celebration will feature live music, interactive games, giveaways, and complimentary refreshments.

The event will feature five 90-minute volunteer shifts, with approximately 1,000 volunteers per shift working together to reach the one-million-meal goal.

Over the years, the Million Meal Pack has attracted support from Hawks legend Dominique Wilkins, current Hawks players Dyson Daniels and Jalen Johnson, along with Atlanta community leaders and entertainers including Doug Shipman, Mariah the Scientist, Roscoe Dash, Young Dro, Campbell “Pookie” Puckett, Jett Puckett, Kaliii, and Ayo & Teo. This year’s event is expected to once again feature music, entertainment, family-friendly activities, and a community-wide celebration of service.

Since launching the initiative, the Hawks and State Farm have hosted five Million Meal Pack events, bringing together more than 26,000 volunteers who have packaged over 5.1 million meals for families in need.

The event is part of the ongoing partnership between the Hawks and State Farm, which has continued to invest in metro Atlanta through community-focused initiatives since 2018. Together, the organizations have opened 12 Good Neighbor Clubs throughout the region, including the newest location at Pittman Park Recreation Center, while also hosting youth development and wellness programs designed to strengthen neighborhoods and support local families.
