Dream Dominate Tempo 111-92 as Hillmon Makes Franchise History

 If Friday night’s performance is any indication, the Atlanta Dream may be finding their rhythm at the perfect time.

Behind a historic night from Naz Hillmon and another pair of dominant double-doubles from Angel Reese and Jordin Canada, the Dream rolled past the Toronto Tempo 111-92 in front of  a sold-out crowd at Coca-Cola Coliseum.

The victory improves Atlanta to 15-10 on the season and keeps its perfect record intact against the expansion Tempo at 3-0 overall and 2-0 on the road.

From the opening tip, the Dream showcased exactly what has made them dangerous this season—balanced scoring, relentless defense and unselfish basketball. Atlanta’s starting five of Jordin Canada, Allisha Gray, Rhyne Howard, Naz Hillmon and Angel Reese all finished in double figures, improving to 15-6 together this season.

But this night belonged to Hillmon.

The forward delivered the best offensive performance of her career, scoring a career-high 24 points while putting together one of the most efficient games in franchise history. Hillmon was flawless, shooting 8-for-8 from the field, 4-for-4 from three-point range and 4-for-4 from the free-throw line.

Her perfect shooting night rewrote the Atlanta Dream record book. Hillmon now owns the franchise record for the most made field goals without a miss (8) and became the first player in Dream history to score at least 24 points without missing a field goal or free throw.

“We have great guards who help find the open person or the hot hand, and we have great bigs as well, whether they’re finding their moves or kicking out,” Hillmon said following the game.

Angel Reese continued her All-Star campaign with yet another double-double, finishing with 23 points and 12 rebounds. It marked her fifth consecutive double-double and 17th of the season, continuing to cement her place among the WNBA’s elite.

“When you have all the starters that set the tone early… we just continue to bounce off each other’s energy,” Reese said.

Jordin Canada orchestrated one of Atlanta’s best offensive performances of the season. The veteran point guard recorded her sixth double-double with 18 points and 13 assists, all while committing zero turnovers.

Canada’s 13 assists marked her seventh game with at least 10 assists this season, setting a new Atlanta Dream franchise record for the most 10-assist games in a single season. Through 25 games, she continues to rewrite the organization’s record book while proving why she’s one of the league’s premier floor generals.

Allisha Gray added 16 points, while Rhyne Howard contributed 10 points and five assists, giving Atlanta five starters in double figures.

The Dream also welcomed back Brionna Jones, who made her 2026 season debut after missing time. Jones wasted little time making an impact, finishing with six points, six rebounds, four assists and a steal in her first action of the year.

Atlanta’s defense fueled the offense throughout the night.

The Dream forced 20 Toronto turnovers, converting those miscues into 29 points, while dominating inside with 60 points in the paint and adding 11 fast-break points.

Although the first half was tightly contested, Atlanta completely took over after halftime.

The Dream shot an impressive 69.7 percent from the floor over the final two quarters and buried Toronto with an explosive fourth quarter, shooting 10-for-14 from the field. Isobel Borlase provided a spark off the bench during the closing period, scoring 10 points as Atlanta pulled away.

Atlanta began creating separation early in the third quarter when Howard scored on back-to-back possessions, forcing Toronto to burn an early timeout. Howard later converted an and-one opportunity in the closing seconds of the quarter as the Dream outscored the Tempo behind a 13-for-19 shooting performance while holding Toronto to just seven made field goals.

Earlier in the game, Gray helped erase a second-quarter deficit by knocking down back-to-back three-pointers to ignite an 8-0 Atlanta run. After trailing by as many as seven points, the Dream carried a one-point advantage into halftime before completely taking control in the second half.

Hillmon had already begun setting the tone in the opening quarter, scoring seven early points while Atlanta established its physical presence. The Dream also attacked the free-throw line early, making eight of their first nine attempts.

Friday’s victory marked Atlanta’s second-highest scoring output of the season and served as another reminder of how dangerous this team can be when its offense, defense and ball movement are all clicking together.
