Atlanta United’s Dominik Chong-Qui Connects with Fans Ahead of Team USA’s World Cup Victory

Soccer fans of all ages gathered yesterday at Chick-fil-A for a special appearance by Atlanta United defender Dominik Chong-Qui, who spent the afternoon meeting supporters ahead of Team USA’s FIFA World Cup Round of 32 match.

The 18-year-old Alpharetta, Georgia native was all smiles as he greeted fans, signed autographs, posed for photos, and chatted with families who came out to meet one of Atlanta United’s brightest young talents. Children proudly held jerseys, soccer balls, trading cards, and other memorabilia while patiently waiting for their chance to meet the Homegrown defender.

Throughout the event, Chong-Qui took time with every fan, making sure each autograph and photo became a memorable experience. His genuine personality and appreciation for the support were evident as he laughed with families, answered questions, and encouraged young players who look up to him as they pursue their own soccer dreams.

When asked about his favorite Chick-fil-A menu item, Chong-Qui didn’t hesitate.

“The Spicy Chicken Sandwich,” he said with a smile, drawing plenty of approval from fans gathered around him.

With excitement building for Team USA’s World Cup match later that evening, Chong-Qui was also asked who he would be cheering for. Smiling, he quickly responded, “Team USA.”

He also shared that once the event wrapped up, he was heading home to enjoy the match with his mother.

The day became even more memorable later that night as Team USA defeated Bosnia and Herzegovina 2-0 to advance to the Round of 16 of the FIFA World Cup, giving fans who attended the event even more to celebrate.

During the appearance, Chong-Qui reflected on his own journey and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to begin his professional career with Atlanta United.

“They’ve really helped me,” he said when discussing the organization.

For a player still in the early stages of his career, Chong-Qui credited the club for helping him grow both on and off the field. As one of Atlanta United’s promising young Homegrown players, he continues to embrace every opportunity to learn while representing both his hometown and the club.

Events like this showcase the connection between Atlanta United and its community. Whether signing autographs, taking pictures with young supporters, or simply spending time talking soccer, Chong-Qui demonstrated why he has quickly become a fan favorite.

With Team USA advancing in the World Cup and one of Atlanta United’s own giving back to supporters, it was a memorable day that celebrated both the sport and the community that continues to embrace it.
