The Atlanta Vibe are back on their home court Sunday afternoon, hosting the Omaha Supernovas at Gas South Arena with a chance to regroup and respond.
Atlanta enters the matchup following a straight-set loss to the San Diego Mojo on April 17 — a result that didn’t reflect the level the Vibe have shown in stretches this season. Now at 9–14, Atlanta turns its focus to a familiar opponent in Omaha, a team it has already beaten twice this year to hold a 2–1 edge in the season series.
Omaha comes in at 12–13, setting up a matchup between two teams looking to find consistency as the season moves deeper into its final stretch.
There’s no shortage of storylines connecting these two teams.
Head coach Kayla Banwarth has deep ties to Nebraska, both as a player and coach, helping the Huskers to a national championship during her time on staff. On the other side of the Vibe bench, General Manager and Assistant Coach Laura “Bird” Kuhn brings firsthand knowledge of Omaha after leading the Supernovas to a championship and building one of the league’s most competitive rosters.
Rookie outside hitter Ava Martin also returns to a familiar setting, having starred collegiately at Creighton in Omaha before making the jump to the professional level.
For Atlanta, Sunday is about more than just familiarity — it’s about response. The Vibe have shown they can compete with anyone when their offense is clicking and their defense is disciplined, but sustaining that level has been the challenge.
Holding the edge in the season series gives Atlanta confidence, but closing out matches and maintaining consistency will be key against a Supernovas team capable of pushing the pace.
First serve is set for 3 p.m. ET at Gas South Arena as the Vibe look to protect home court and get back on track.
