Gladiators Add Dynamic Forward Nick McCarry Ahead of Road Trip

The Atlanta Gladiators continue to shape their roster for the stretch run, announcing Tuesday that forward Nick McCarry has been signed to a Standard Player Contract.

McCarry, 24, arrives in Duluth after a highly productive four-year run at Carleton University, where he developed into one of the program’s most reliable offensive threats. The undersized but explosive forward totaled 111 points in 108 career games with the Ravens, including a team-leading 30-point campaign this season. His ability to create offense in tight spaces and produce consistently made him a centerpiece of Carleton’s attack.

Recognition followed the production. McCarry earned USports (OUA East) Second All-Star honors last season and was previously named to the USports All-Rookie Team, highlighting a collegiate career defined by steady growth and impact play from day one.

Before heading to the university ranks, the Calgary native built his reputation in the WHL, where he showcased both scoring touch and playmaking ability across multiple clubs. His final junior season was his most explosive, posting 63 points in 70 games while splitting time between Kamloops and Spokane. Across his WHL career, McCarry recorded more than 100 points, proving he can contribute in high-tempo, physical environments — a skill set that should translate well to the pro level.

At 5-foot-9, McCarry won’t overpower opponents, but he brings speed, vision, and the kind of competitiveness that often makes smaller forwards dangerous in transition. For Atlanta, it’s a depth addition with upside — the type of signing that can quietly pay dividends over the course of a long season.

McCarry could get his first taste of ECHL action immediately, as the Gladiators hit the road for a three-game trip beginning Friday night against the South Carolina Stingrays in North Charleston.

With fresh legs and offensive punch joining the lineup, Atlanta will look to build momentum away from home and keep pace in a tightly contested division race.
