Jalen Johnson Powers Hawks Past Grizzlies, 124–122

Jalen Johnson put together one of the most complete performances of his young career Wednesday night, lifting the Atlanta Hawks to a 124–122 win over the Memphis Grizzlies and snapping a four-game skid in the process.

Johnson was everywhere. He finished with 32 points and 15 rebounds, both season highs, while adding eight assists and delivering the biggest bucket of the night in the final minute to seal the victory. When the Hawks needed composure late, the ball found Johnson—and he made the right play.

While Johnson’s career high remains the 43-point outburst he posted on Dec. 18, 2025, this performance underscored just how much his all-around game has evolved. On the season, Johnson is now averaging 23.2 points, 10.3 rebounds and 8.0 assists per game, continuing to establish himself as one of the league’s most versatile forwards.

Atlanta leaned on balance alongside its star. Luke Kennard and Onyeka Okongwu each chipped in 18 points, providing timely scoring and steady contributions throughout the night. The Hawks matched Memphis possession for possession, staying composed in crunch time after several tight finishes earlier in the week slipped away.

For the Grizzlies, Ja Morant led the way with 23 points and 12 assists, while Jaylen Wells scored 18 points and Jaren Jackson Jr. and Cedric Coward added 17 apiece. Memphis kept pressure on Atlanta all night, but Johnson’s late-game execution proved to be the difference.

In a tightly contested matchup, it was Johnson’s poise, versatility and confidence that separated the Hawks when it mattered most. On a night when Atlanta needed a response, their emerging leader delivered—on the stat sheet, in the huddle, and in the final moments.

The Hawks will look to keep that momentum rolling as they return to State Farm Arena tomorrow to take on the Phoenix Suns, with tipoff set for 7:30 p.m.
