The College Park Skyhawks (5–7) battled their way to a hard-fought 114–107 overtime victory against the Long Island Nets (5–7), the NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, during a Tuesday matinee at Nassau Coliseum. The matchup, part of Long Island’s annual Education Day, and delivered a game full of momentum swings, grit, and clutch execution from College Park.
Guard Javan Johnson set the tone offensively, leading the Skyhawks with 25 points, three rebounds, and two assists in 32 minutes. Johnson’s ability to score at all three levels helped stabilize the Skyhawks during critical stretches, including several key buckets to keep the game within reach late.
Forward Eli John Ndiaye delivered a standout performance of his own, recording a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds in 37 minutes. Ndiaye’s presence on the glass — particularly on second-chance opportunities — proved vital, as the Skyhawks won the offensive rebounding battle and converted those extra possessions into 17 second-chance points.
College Park’s balanced attack continued with strong contributions from MJ Walker, who poured in 24 points, including six three-pointers, while Dwight Murray Jr. added nine assists and controlled the pace in overtime.
The game featured 29 lead changes and 13 ties, a reflection of how tightly contested the matchup was from start to finish. College Park held the Nets scoreless in overtime, outscoring Long Island 7–0 in the extra period to lock down the win. Defensively, the Skyhawks forced 11 turnovers that turned into 17 points — a key difference-maker late.
The Skyhawks also outworked Long Island in the paint, scoring 46 inside points, while holding strong on the boards with 50 total rebounds. Long Island’s Nate Williams and Nolan Traore led the Nets offensively, but the Skyhawks’ late-game poise proved too much.
With the victory, College Park improves to 5–7 and carries momentum into the next stretch of games. The Skyhawks will now return home to Gateway Center Arena to take on the Greensboro Swarm on December 12, aiming to build off their resilient overtime performance and continue climbing in the standings.
