Atlanta United continued its offseason reshaping today, announcing that the club has acquired $525,000 in General Allocation Money — $275,000 for 2026 and $250,000 for 2027 — after the Colorado Rapids officially exercised the permanent trade option for defender Noah Cobb.
Cobb originally joined Colorado on loan on July 25, 2025, set to remain with the Rapids through the end of the 2025 MLS season. With the Rapids now choosing to make the deal permanent, Atlanta has an opportunity to earn up to an additional $250,000 in performance-based incentives, plus a percentage of any future transfer, keeping long-term value tied to Cobb’s continued growth.
A Homegrown Story From Start to First Team
Cobb’s journey is one Atlanta fans know well. He entered the Atlanta United Academy at the U-15 level and quickly climbed the ladder. At just 15 years old, Cobb made his professional debut for Atlanta United 2 on July 18, 2021, recording 11 appearances that season.
By 2022, he had become a regular — logging 26 matches and earning a Homegrown contract that officially took effect on January 1, 2023, when he joined the First Team.
The Chattanooga, Tennessee native went on to appear in 39 MLS regular-season matches for Atlanta, starting 25 of them, and added two playoff appearances during the 2024 campaign.
A Rising Talent on the International Stage
Cobb hasn’t only made noise in MLS — he’s been a steady presence in the U.S. youth national team system. He’s represented the U.S. at the U-19, U-20, and U-23 levels, earning 13 caps with the U-20s.
He played in all six matches of the 2024 Concacaf U-20 Championship, helping the U.S. finish as runners-up, and later scored his first international goal during the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in a quarterfinal run.
