The Atlanta Hawks walked out of State Farm Arena with a gritty 113–110 win over the Charlotte Hornets, improving to 11-7 on the season and keeping their momentum sharp. Dating back to last season, Atlanta has now won five straight against Charlotte — and with tonight’s result, the Hawks move to 3-1 on the second night of back-to-backs, continuing to show resilience when it matters most.
Atlanta’s ball movement and discipline set the tone. The Hawks dished out 32 assists, marking their 12th game this season with 30 or more assists, the most of any team in the league. Defensively, they delivered one of their cleanest efforts of the year, allowing zero fast-break points for the first time since Oct. 28, 2021, at Washington. Atlanta also dominated in points off turnovers, outscoring Charlotte 23-8, the second-fewest points off turnovers they’ve allowed all season.
The Hawks got a true team effort with four players scoring 20+ points — Jalen Johnson (28), Nickeil Alexander-Walker (23), Dyson Daniels (22) and Onyeka Okongwu (20). It’s the first time Atlanta has had four 20-point scorers in a game since Feb. 12, 2025, against the New York Knicks.
Jalen Johnson Continues His Rise
Jalen Johnson once again showed why he’s one of the most dynamic young players in the league, finishing with 28 points, 11 assists, eight rebounds and zero turnovers. He became the first Hawk since at least 1977-78 (when turnovers were first officially tracked) to post 25+ points, 10+ assists, 5+ rebounds and 0 turnovers in a game.
This was also Johnson’s eighth straight game with at least 18 points, seven rebounds and five assists — a stretch that speaks to just how consistent and impactful he’s been.
Nickeil Alexander-Walker Keeps Building
Nickeil Alexander-Walker turned in another strong performance, tallying 23 points, five rebounds, four assists, one steal and one block in 39 minutes. He recorded his seventh 20+ point game of the season, the most in a single year in his career.
Dyson Daniels Does a Little Bit of Everything
Dyson Daniels added 22 points on 10-of-17 shooting, along with nine rebounds, six assists and two steals. With his first steal of the night, Daniels extended his streak to 70 consecutive games with at least one steal, making him one of only four players in NBA history to reach that milestone.
Onyeka Okongwu Stays Locked In
Onyeka Okongwu continued his efficient and expanded offensive play, posting 20 points, seven rebounds and three assists. His two threes tonight marked his 25th career multi-triple game, and his ninth of the season — proof of just how far his range has come.
What the Hornets Did
Charlotte kept it competitive behind Kon Knueppel’s impressive night. He matched Johnson with 28 points on 9-of-17 shooting, including 7-of-11 from beyond the arc, and added six rebounds, three assists and a block.
Collin Sexton followed with 22 points on 8-of-16 shooting, plus four assists in 36 minutes, doing everything he could to keep Charlotte in striking distance. But Atlanta’s execution down the stretch ultimately sealed the win.
Next up, the Hawks hit the road to take on the Cleveland Cavaliers on Nov. 28. Tipoff is set for 7:00 PM EST in Cleveland.
