Falcons Roll Past Saints 24–10, Delivering Dominant Win in New Orleans

The Atlanta Falcons delivered one of their most complete performances of the season on Sunday, defeating the New Orleans Saints, 24–10, inside the Caesars Superdome. The victory marked Atlanta’s largest win in New Orleans since Week 10 of the 2019 season (26–9) and just the eighth time in franchise history the Falcons have beaten the Saints by 14 or more points on the road.

Behind a disruptive pass rush, timely offense, and a suffocating defensive effort, the Falcons controlled the game from start to finish—collecting a win that may go down as one of their most well-rounded outings of the year.

Defense Sets the Tone

Atlanta’s defense was relentless throughout the afternoon. The Falcons recorded five sacks, making franchise history with four consecutive games of five or more sacks—a feat accomplished only 12 times in NFL history.

The unit held New Orleans to just 95 first-half yards, the fewest Atlanta has allowed in any first half this season, and limited the Saints to 3.76 yards per play, their best mark since Week 1 of 2018. Atlanta also held Saints quarterback and leading rusher Tyler Shough to just 22 rushing yards, the lowest by a Falcons opponent’s leading rusher since 2018.

It was another dominant showing against the run. The Falcons have allowed only 146 rushing yards over their last two games, including just 79 on Sunday.

Rookies Continue to Shine

It was another strong day for Atlanta’s stellar rookie class. Sunday marked the fourth game this season in which multiple Falcons rookies posted at least a half sack—the most such games in a single season in franchise history.

  • Brandon Dorlus recorded 1.5 sacks, bringing his season total to six—tying the franchise record for most sacks through a player’s first 13 games.
  • Jalon Walker notched his fifth sack of the season, continuing to lead all NFL rookies.
  • James Pearce Jr. added 1.5 sacks and now has four on the year, trailing only Walker among rookies. He has now recorded a sack in three straight games, becoming the first Falcons rookie to do so since 2017.
  • Ruke Orhorhoro contributed a sack, pushing his season total to 2.5.
  • Xavier Watts intercepted his third pass of the year, the most by any rookie in the NFL and the most by an Atlanta rookie since 2016.

Cousins Climbs the Record Books

Quarterback Kirk Cousins delivered a sharp, efficient performance, completing 16-of-23 passes for 199 yards, two touchdowns and a 107.0 passer rating. His two scoring passes moved him into a tie with Johnny Unitas for 17th all-time with 290 career touchdown passes. Among active quarterbacks, only Aaron Rodgers, Matthew Stafford and Russell Wilson have more.

Cousins’ touchdowns went to David Sills, who secured his first-career score, and Darnell Mooney, who posted a season-high 74 yards, including a 49-yard touchdown—his longest of the year.

Rookie Dylan Drummond recorded the first receptions of his NFL career, hauling in three passes for 18 yards.

Bijan Sets the Pace

Running back Bijan Robinson continued his standout sophomore campaign, rushing for 70 yards—60 of which came in the first half. It marked his second straight game with 60+ first-half rushing yards. Robinson also surpassed 100 scrimmage yards (107) for the seventh time this season. Since entering the league in 2023, he has recorded a league-leading 25 games with 100+ scrimmage yards.

Tight end Charlie Woerner added a career-best three receptions for 24 yards, while return specialist Jamal Agnew contributed 74 yards on two kick returns.

Playmakers All Over the Field

The Falcons defense saw strong contributions throughout the lineup:

  • Dee Alford recovered a mishandled handoff and finished with a career-high 10 tackles.
  • Divine Deablo tallied eight tackles, including one tackle for loss.
  • Mike Ford Jr. added two special teams tackles and continues to rank among the league leaders with 14 on the season.

On special teams, kicker Zane Gonzalez delivered a flawless performance, converting all three field goal attempts from 41, 54 and 56 yards. The 56-yarder was one shy of his career long, and he became only the second Falcons kicker ever—joining Morten Andersen—to hit two field goals of 54+ yards in the same game.

A Statement Win

From the opening whistle, the Falcons dictated the pace—stifling the Saints offense and capitalizing on key scoring opportunities. In a rivalry known for close finishes, Atlanta left no doubt, delivering one of its most decisive wins in New Orleans in recent memory.

If Sunday’s performance is any indication, this Falcons team is finding its rhythm at the right time—powered by a steady veteran quarterback, a dynamic young offensive core, and one of the most productive rookie classes in the NFL.

Next up: the Falcons continue their road trip and head to New York to take on the Jets on Nov. 30.
