JALEN JOHNSON NAMED EASTERN CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK AFTER HISTORIC RUN

Atlanta Hawks forward Jalen Johnson has officially arrived — and now the NBA has the hardware to prove it. Johnson has been named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for games played Nov. 10 through Nov. 16, marking the first such honor of his career and the first by any Hawks player this season.

Johnson didn’t just have a big week; he delivered one of the most dominant four-game stretches in franchise history. He powered Atlanta to a perfect 4-0 Western Conference road trip — the Hawks’ first sweep of a four-game West trip since the 1970-71 season — and he did it while rewriting sections of the NBA record book.

Across the week, Johnson totaled 96 points, 48 rebounds, 37 assists, and 10 steals, becoming the first player in Hawks history to hit at least 95 points, 45 rebounds, 35 assists, and 10 steals over any four-game span. He’s also just the second NBA player this season, joining Nikola Jokic, to post those numbers. He averaged a near triple-double with 24.0 points, 12.0 rebounds, 9.3 assists, and 2.5 steals while shooting an elite .603 from the field, .571 from three, and .783 at the line — the only player league-wide to hit those thresholds.

He also owned the Eastern Conference’s best field-goal percentage, highest net rating, and highest player impact estimate of the week. His 37 assists were the most by any NBA player during that stretch.

Johnson’s highlight performance came in Utah on Nov. 13, when he erupted for a career-best 31 points, 18 rebounds, 14 assists, and seven steals — becoming the first player in league history to post that stat line since steals became official in the 1973-74 season.

He followed that masterpiece with a clutch performance in Phoenix on Nov. 16, finishing with 25 points on 9-of-13 shooting, 10 rebounds, seven assists, and a steal. Johnson helped the Hawks erase a 22-point deficit with under 10 minutes to play, fueling a 19-0 fourth-quarter run and leading Atlanta to its largest late-game comeback in franchise history.

Earlier in the week, he dropped 24 points on 9-of-10 shooting in Sacramento — becoming just the second player in NBA history to record 20+ points, 10+ rebounds, and 5+ assists in under 25 minutes while shooting at least 90 percent from the field. He opened the road trip with a 16-point, 10-rebound double-double against the Clippers, adding eight assists and strong defensive play.

As a team, the Hawks have found their rhythm, averaging 123.5 points, 35.8 assists, and 12.5 steals over their four wins with top-10 ratings on both ends of the floor. They’ve now logged five straight games with 30-plus assists, tying the longest streak in franchise history.

Through 12 games this season, Johnson is posting career highs across the board: 21.8 points, 9.6 rebounds, 6.3 assists, and 1.8 steals on .587/.382/.807 shooting splits. He is one of only five players averaging at least 21 points, nine rebounds, and six assists this season — joining Giannis Antetokounmpo, Nikola Jokic, Alperen Sengun, and Josh Giddey.

Atlanta looks to keep its win streak alive as the Hawks return home to host the Detroit Pistons tonight at 7:30 p.m.
