Hawks Complete Perfect Road Trip, Rally From 22 Down to Win Fifth Straight

The Atlanta Hawks extended their winning streak to five games after defeating the Phoenix Suns 124-122 on November 16, 2025 — a comeback that capped off a flawless 4-0 West Coast trip and showcased just how dangerous this team is becoming.

Atlanta trailed by 22 points in the fourth quarter, but the Hawks refused to back down. Instead, they delivered one of their most impressive late-game rallies of the season, flipping the momentum and stunning the Suns on their home floor.

Onyeka Okongwu powered the surge, finishing with 27 points and bringing relentless energy in the paint to spark the comeback.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker added 26 points, stepping up with big buckets throughout the night. His poised trip to the free-throw line in the final seconds — hitting the first of two with three seconds left — sealed the win for Atlanta.

Jalen Johnson delivered a standout all-around performance, posting 25 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists, and a steal in 39 minutes. Johnson shot an efficient 9-of-13 from the field, 2-of-3 from deep, and 5-of-6 at the line, providing the steady two-way impact Atlanta needed to claw back into the game.

The Hawks also continue to battle through injuries. Trae Young remains sidelined with a sprained MCL in his right knee, an injury suffered during the Nov. 1 matchup against the Brooklyn Nets. An MRI confirmed no additional structural damage, but Young is expected to miss at least four weeks and will be re-evaluated at that time.

Atlanta wasn’t without additional adversity on Sunday, as rookie Zaccharie Risacher exited early with a hip injury. His status will be monitored in the coming days.

With the victory, the Hawks not only snapped Phoenix’s five-game winning streak but also completed a perfect 4-0 western road trip.

Atlanta returns home riding major momentum and will look to push the streak to six when they host the Detroit Pistons tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m.

The Hawks are rolling — and they’re starting to look like a problem for the rest of the league.
