Five Atlanta United Players Headed to International Duty

 

Atlanta United will be well represented on the international stage during the Nov. 10-18 FIFA window, with five First Team players receiving call-ups from their respective national teams. Miguel Almirón, Dominik Chong Qui, Ronald Hernández, Alexey Miranchuk, and Bartosz Slisz will all join their national squads for friendlies, qualifiers, and tournaments.

In addition, Cooper Sanchez is already in action with the U.S. U-17 Men’s National Team at the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar (Nov. 3-27). The Americans sit atop Group I with six points and have already secured a spot in the Round of 32 ahead of their final group stage match against Czechia on Nov. 11.

Almirón returns to Paraguay after helping his nation secure its first World Cup appearance since 2010. Paraguay will face the United States on Nov. 15 and Mexico on Nov. 18. Almirón has started 64 of his 71 appearances for Paraguay, tallying nine goals and six assists since his debut in 2015.

Chong Qui will join the U.S. U-19s in Wrexham, Wales for the UEFA U-19 Youth Tournament from Nov. 10-18, facing Germany, Wales, and Japan in group play.

Hernández heads to Venezuela for friendlies against Australia on Nov. 14 and Canada on Nov. 18. The defender has one goal and three assists in 34 caps with La Vinotinto.

Miranchuk will suit up for Russia in home friendlies against Peru (Nov. 12) and Chile (Nov. 15). The midfielder has 49 appearances and 10 goals with his national team since 2015.

Slisz joins Poland for a pair of 2026 World Cup qualifiers at home against the Netherlands (Nov. 14) and away at Malta (Nov. 17). Poland sits second in Group G with 13 points. Slisz has started each of the last four qualifiers and has 20 appearances and one goal since his 2021 debut.

Atlanta United fans will be keeping a close eye on these players as they represent their countries ahead of the final stretch of the MLS season.
