On Saturday night the electrifying energy from the neighboring game of Atlanta United facing Portland and winning the MLS World Cup spilled over to State Farm Arena.
The Hawks had just finished a three-game road trip in which Atlanta loss the first two games to the Warriors and the Wizards. A victory was craved and accomplished when the Hawks soared pass the Denver Nuggets 106-98.
John Collins led the team by setting a career high mark in scoring, with 30 points, 5 assists, and 12 rebounds.
DeAndre Bembry also had a career best with 18 points 5 assists and 3 blocked shots.
Vince Carter also, made his presence known with 13 points.
Late in the third quarter, DeAndre Bembry passed the ball to Carter who connected a three pointer. With seconds remaining in the third, Carter also executed a tip dunk.
The win boosted the team confidence and helped the Hawks (6-20) snapped their four-game losing streak. Atlanta heads back on the road to play the next three games (Mavericks, Celtics and Nets). First stop will be in Dallas as the Hawks face the Mavericks on Wednesday night.
