Atlanta United 2 today announced it has signed defender Patrick Nielsen. He was originally drafted by Atlanta United with the No. 23 overall pick in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft.
“Patrick joins us following a successful college career, and we are excited to see him grow at the professional level,” said ATL UTD 2 head coach Stephen Glass.
Atlanta United also announced today two roster moves ahead ofMLS is Back Tournament in Orlando next month. Jon Gallagher has returned to the club after being on loan with Aberdeen FC, while Manuel Castro’s loan from Club Estudiantes de La Plata has been extended through the end of the 2020 season.
Atlanta United will return to play at MLS is Back Tournament, starting July 8 in Orlando. The club was placed in Group E alongside FC Cincinnati, New York Red Bulls and Columbus Crew SC, with its first match scheduled for Saturday, July 11 against Red Bulls (8:00 p.m. EST, FOX).
