The Atlanta Hawks are officially on a roll.
Behind a dominant second half and balanced scoring across the roster, Atlanta defeated the Milwaukee Bucks 122–99 Saturday afternoon at State Farm Arena, extending their winning streak to nine games — the longest active streak in the NBA.
It’s also the Hawks’ longest winning streak since the 2014–15 season, when the team rattled off a franchise-record 19 consecutive victories.
Atlanta set the tone early and never looked back, using relentless defense, strong rebounding and efficient shooting to pull away from Milwaukee as the game progressed. By the time the fourth quarter arrived, the Hawks had built a lead as large as 26 points.
CJ McCollum led the way offensively, finishing with a game-high 30 points on an efficient 10-of-18 shooting performance. The veteran guard was especially lethal from beyond the arc, knocking down seven three-pointers on ten attempts while adding three rebounds, two assists and a steal in just 27 minutes of action.
The performance marked McCollum’s fourth 30-point game of the season and the 24th time in his career he has connected on at least seven three-pointers in a single game — tied for the seventh-most among active NBA players.
While McCollum handled the scoring load, Jalen Johnson once again showed why he has become one of the league’s most versatile rising stars.
Johnson recorded 23 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists in 35 minutes, securing his 12th triple-double of the season and the 14th of his career. His 12 triple-doubles rank second in the NBA this season, trailing only Denver’s Nikola Jokic.
Johnson’s ability to control the game on both ends helped Atlanta maintain momentum whenever Milwaukee attempted to make a push.
Nickeil Alexander-Walker also continued his remarkable consistency, adding 20 points on 7-of-14 shooting while connecting on three shots from beyond the arc. He also contributed three steals and a block in 34 minutes.
The performance marked Alexander-Walker’s 35th game this season with at least 20 points — already the most in a single season in his career.
The Virginia Tech product also extended his career-best streak to 36 straight games scoring in double figures. Overall, he now has 62 games this season with double-digit scoring, the fourth-most in the NBA.
Alexander-Walker has been especially effective during Atlanta’s recent stretch of success. Over his last five games, he is averaging 22.8 points while shooting 54.7 percent from the field and 46.3 percent from three-point range.
Atlanta’s defense also played a major role in the victory.
The Hawks recorded 10 steals in the win, marking their 32nd game this season with double-digit thefts — the second-most such games in the Eastern Conference and the fourth-most in the NBA. Atlanta has been particularly successful when creating turnovers, improving to 23–9 this season when recording at least 10 steals.
Dyson Daniels contributed heavily to that defensive pressure, finishing with eight points, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals in 29 minutes. Daniels now has a league-leading 41 games this season with multiple steals.
Atlanta also controlled the glass throughout the afternoon.
The Hawks grabbed 15 offensive rebounds, extending their streak to 11 consecutive games with at least 10 offensive boards — tied for the fourth-longest active streak in the league. Since the All-Star break, Atlanta is averaging 13.6 offensive rebounds per game, the fourth-highest mark in the NBA during that span.
Several Hawks players provided key contributions off the bench.
Corey Kispert scored 13 points on 4-of-7 shooting while adding four rebounds in 15 minutes. It marked his 18th game this season scoring in double figures.
Jock Landale also made his presence felt in limited minutes, finishing with 10 points on 5-of-7 shooting along with six rebounds in 17 minutes.
For Milwaukee, Ryan Rollins led the team with 22 points on 8-of-11 shooting, including four three-pointers. He also added eight assists and two blocks.
Kevin Porter Jr. chipped in 18 points while recording seven rebounds, seven assists and two steals, but the Bucks struggled to keep pace with Atlanta’s offensive rhythm.
The Hawks outscored Milwaukee 35–26 in the third quarter and continued to extend the lead in the final period, ultimately sealing a convincing 23-point victory.
Atlanta finished the night shooting 49.5 percent from the field and dominated the paint with 62 points inside.
With the win, the Hawks improved to 36–31 on the season as the team continues to build momentum heading into the final stretch of the regular season.
Next up, the Hawks return to action Monday night when they take on the Orlando Magic. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m. at State Farm Arena.
