The Atlanta Hawks are starting to find their rhythm — and Monday night at State Farm Arena was another step in that direction.
Atlanta pulled away from the Indiana Pacers for a 132–116 win on January 26, extending their winning streak to three games and improving to 23–25 on the season. It didn’t come easy, but once the Hawks flipped the switch after halftime, there was no mistaking who controlled the night.
Down by as many as 15 in the first half, the Hawks came out of the locker room with a completely different edge. A dominant second-half surge — highlighted by a blistering 17–0 run — turned the game on its head and sent the home crowd into a frenzy. From there, Atlanta dictated the pace, defended with purpose, and piled on points in waves.
C.J. McCollum set the tone, leading the Hawks with 23 points while filling the stat sheet with eight rebounds and seven assists. He was steady, composed, and timely — exactly what Atlanta needed to spark the comeback. Dyson Daniels followed with one of his most complete performances of the season, finishing with 22 points and nine assists while making his presence felt on both ends of the floor. Nickeil Alexander-Walker added 21 points, continuing his stretch of confident, aggressive play.
The bench showed up too. Christian Koloko was perfect from the field, scoring 12 points on 6-of-6 shooting and bringing energy, rim protection, and easy buckets when the Hawks needed a lift.
Indiana had its moments early behind Pascal Siakam, who led all scorers with 26 points and nine rebounds. Aaron Nesmith chipped in 18 points, while Bennedict Mathurin and T.J. McConnell combined for 32 off the bench. But once Atlanta locked in defensively and started pushing the tempo, the Pacers struggled to keep up.
By the fourth quarter, the Hawks had full control — stretching the lead into double digits and closing the door with confidence.
Next up: The Hawks hit the road to take on the Celtics in Boston on Wednesday night, before returning home the following night to State Farm Arena to face the Houston Rockets.
