Arthur Blank Addresses Falcons Fans, Outlines Sweeping Organizational Changes

Atlanta Falcons Owner and Chairman Arthur M. Blank issued a candid and far-reaching letter to fans and the Atlanta community, taking full responsibility for the team’s recent struggles while laying out a clear vision for a new era of Falcons football.

“No statement can change the disappointment of the past several seasons,” Blank wrote. “I know we have fallen short of the standard you expect and we as an organization have for ourselves. That responsibility rests with me.”

Blank did not soften his message, acknowledging the frustration shared by fans and ownership alike. “When results do not match expectations over time, as the owner, accountability cannot be shared or softened,” he said. “I believe this team should be competing at a higher level than it has, and I share your deep frustration.”

At the heart of the letter was a recognition of the unwavering loyalty of Falcons fans. Blank called the fan base “the heartbeat of this franchise,” adding, “Week after week, season after season, you show up, you believe, and you support this team with pride. You have invested your time, money and emotion into the Falcons, and that commitment deserves a team that competes for championships year in and year out.”

After an internal review, Blank confirmed that the organization has already begun implementing major changes. With the assistance of Sportsology Group, the Falcons conducted what Blank described as “a deep, thorough and intentional health assessment of our entire football operation over the last two months.”

“As we announced last night, we will have a new head coach and general manager in 2026,” Blank wrote. “But that is only one part of our approach in a new era.”

Among the most significant shifts is the creation of a new football leadership structure. Blank announced the Falcons will hire a president of football from outside the organization, a role that will set the team’s vision and identity.

“Our new head coach and general manager will report to the new president of football,” Blank explained. “Final decision-making authority will rest with the president of football… and they will work collaboratively as a football leadership team on all football decisions.”

The president of football will report directly to Blank and work closely with newly promoted Falcons President and CEO Greg Beadles to ensure alignment between football and business operations.

“As part of our ongoing succession planning, Greg Beadles has been elevated from president to president and CEO of the Atlanta Falcons,” Blank confirmed. “Greg will continue oversight of all business affairs of the Falcons and collaborate closely with the new president of football.”

Blank also addressed Rich McKay’s evolving role within AMB Sports and Entertainment, noting McKay will now focus fully on major upcoming initiatives including the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Super Bowl LXII in 2028, Mercedes-Benz Stadium renovations, and the launch of Atlanta’s NWSL franchise.

“I’m incredibly grateful to Rich for his 20+ years of direct leadership with the Falcons, including many of the most successful seasons in team history,” Blank said.

Throughout the letter, Blank emphasized that words alone are not enough.

“I understand trust is built through action, not words,” he wrote. “Moving forward, every decision will be made with one clear objective – building a team capable of sustained success and competing for championships.”

Despite the disappointment of missing the playoffs, Blank expressed optimism about the foundation already in place. “I believe our football team has a solid core of outstanding veterans and exciting young talent,” he said, adding that the Falcons’ open leadership positions will be “highly attractive to an array of top leaders.”

Blank closed his message with gratitude and resolve.

“I want you to know I am grateful for your loyalty, belief, and willingness to continue to show up and support this team, even when it has been difficult,” he wrote. “You deserve the absolute best, and I am determined to take whatever steps necessary to get us there.”

The message was clear: accountability has been taken, change is underway, and the standard in Atlanta is being reset.
