Bijan the Bullet: Falcons Star Runs Away with NFC Offensive Player of the Week Honors

The NFL announced Wednesday that Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 6 — his second major honor of the season after earning NFC Offensive Player of the Month for September.

On Monday night, under the bright lights of Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Robinson was electric in Atlanta’s 24–14 win over the Buffalo Bills. The second-year star totaled a career-best 238 yards from scrimmage, rushing 19 times for 170 yards and a touchdown, while adding six receptions for 68 yards. His score came on a career-long 81-yard touchdown run in the second quarter — the longest rush by any player in the NFL this season.

Robinson’s performance was one for the history books. His 238 scrimmage yards were the most by a running back on Monday Night Football since 1986 (Joe Morris). He’s also been remarkably consistent, recording at least 100 scrimmage yards in every game this season, tying William Andrews (1983) for the longest streak to start a season in franchise history.

Through five games, Robinson has amassed 822 scrimmage yards — the most ever by a Falcon and the fourth-most by any player in the Super Bowl era. He also owns the longest active streak in the NFL with six straight 100-yard scrimmage games, dating back to Week 18 of last season. Robinson’s 23 career games with 100+ yards from scrimmage lead all players since he entered the league in 2023, while his 11 consecutive games of at least 90 yards stand as the longest active streak in the NFL.
