Atlanta Gladiators Add Nychuk and Lind Ahead of 2025-26 Season Opener

 

The Atlanta Gladiators announced today that defenseman Chad Nychuk has been assigned to Atlanta by the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League, while forward Kalan Lind joins the Gladiators from Milwaukee via the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League.

Nychuk, 24, appeared in 19 games with Atlanta last season, recording 5 goals and 5 assists. The 6’1”, 195-pound defenseman has split his first three professional seasons between the AHL and ECHL, tallying 4 assists in 27 games with Milwaukee last season. A native of Rossburn, Manitoba, Nychuk made his professional debut in 2022 with the Kalamazoo Wings and earned time in the AHL with the Abbotsford Canucks. After spending the 2023-24 season with Kalamazoo and Abbotsford, Nychuk played with both Atlanta and Milwaukee in 2024-25. He enters his fourth professional season with 12 points (2 goals, 10 assists) in 53 career AHL games and 43 points (10 goals, 33 assists) in 79 ECHL games.

Joining him in Atlanta is 20-year-old forward Kalan Lind, who was selected in the 2nd round, 46th overall, by Nashville in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft. Lind, a 6’1”, 163-pound forward from Swift Current, Saskatchewan, recorded 68 goals and 92 assists for 160 points in 202 WHL games with the Red Deer Rebels from 2020-2025. He appeared in one game with Milwaukee last season and served as an alternate captain for Red Deer in his final two seasons, finishing last year with 12 goals and 15 assists in 37 games. Lind has been one of Red Deer’s top five scorers in each of the last four seasons.
