Atlanta United finally got it done on the road! The Five Stripes grabbed their first away win of the season Saturday night, edging Nashville SC 1-0 at GEODIS Park.
The difference-maker? Ronald Hernández. The Venezuelan defender powered home a header in the 25th minute off a pinpoint cross from Steven Alzate to put Atlanta in front. From there, it was the Jayden Hibbert show. The 19-year-old goalkeeper made seven saves, extended his shutout streak to 202 minutes, and recorded back-to-back clean sheets while remaining unbeaten in his first three career starts.
The victory not only snapped Atlanta’s road woes, but also gave the club a jolt of momentum as it heads into its next test at home.
