Hawks 2026-27 Schedule: Home Opener Set for Oct. 24 Against Rockets

ATLANTA — The Atlanta Hawks officially have their roadmap for the 2026-27 NBA season, and State Farm Arena will get its first taste of regular-season action on Saturday, Oct. 24.

The Hawks will host the Houston Rockets at 8 p.m. for Opening Night presented by State Farm, highlighting the team’s newly released 2026-27 schedule.

Before returning to Atlanta, the Hawks will open their season on the road with a pair of Southeast Division matchups. Atlanta visits the Orlando Magic on Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m., followed by a trip to Charlotte to face the Hornets on Friday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m.

The early schedule will test Atlanta away from home, with six of its first nine games taking place on the road.

One noticeable change for Hawks fans this season will be earlier tipoffs at State Farm Arena. The majority of Atlanta’s home games are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., marking the first time since the 2010-11 season that 7 p.m. will serve as the predominant home start time.

Atlanta is currently scheduled for 10 nationally televised appearances, including games across NBC, Peacock, NBA on Prime and ESPN. Games not exclusively carried nationally will air locally on WANF (Atlanta News First) and Peachtree Sports Network, with the complete local television schedule to be announced later.

Sports Radio 92-9 The Game and the Hawks Radio Network will once again carry every game, featuring longtime “Voice of the Hawks” Steve Holman alongside Mike Conti, who will handle pregame, halftime and postgame duties.

November brings several intriguing matchups. Atlanta will face the Washington Wizards in consecutive games, traveling to Washington on Nov. 4 before hosting the Wizards at State Farm Arena on Nov. 6.

Three nights later, the Los Angeles Lakers come to Atlanta for a Nov. 9 matchup.

The Hawks will also compete in the Emirates NBA Cup, beginning group play at home against Washington on Nov. 6. Atlanta will then travel to Chicago on Nov. 13, host Charlotte on Nov. 20 and visit Boston on Nov. 27. The two home Cup contests will serve as Atlanta Hawks Cup Nights presented by Harrah’s Cherokee Casinos.

December features a Western Conference road swing through Portland, Phoenix and Denver before the Hawks settle into an extended stretch at State Farm Arena.

Atlanta will play six of seven games at home to close December, including visits from Orlando, defending NBA champion Oklahoma City, Detroit, Charlotte, Chicago and Milwaukee. The Dec. 23 matchup against Detroit will serve as the Holiday Game fueled by Georgia Natural Gas, while Atlanta closes 2026 by hosting Milwaukee on Dec. 31 at 3 p.m.

The home-heavy schedule continues into January, with the Hawks playing eight of their first 11 games of 2027 at State Farm Arena.

That stretch includes San Antonio on Jan. 10, Cleveland on Jan. 13 and Golden State on Jan. 15.

One of the biggest dates on the home schedule arrives Monday, Jan. 18, when Atlanta hosts Philadelphia at 2:30 p.m. for its annual MLK Day matchup, powered by Georgia Power. The game will air nationally on NBC.

Four days later, the New York Knicks return to State Farm Arena for a Jan. 22 matchup televised on ESPN, adding another chapter to a rivalry that has produced plenty of postseason drama.

February could provide Atlanta with an opportunity to establish some serious home-court momentum.

After hosting Washington for Black Excellence Night on Feb. 1 and traveling to Indiana on Feb. 3, the Hawks begin a season-long seven-game homestand. Boston, Denver, Miami, Phoenix and Toronto are among the teams scheduled to visit Atlanta during the stretch.

The Feb. 12 matchup against Phoenix will highlight HBCU Night presented by Chase, while Atlanta’s Feb. 16 game against Toronto will air nationally on NBC.

The league then heads into its All-Star break, with the 2027 NBA All-Star Game scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 21 in Phoenix.

Once play resumes, Atlanta’s schedule becomes considerably more road-heavy.

The Hawks will play 12 of 16 games away from State Farm Arena following the break, including their longest road trip of the season beginning March 15.

That six-game trip takes Atlanta through Dallas, Utah, both Los Angeles teams, Golden State and Sacramento before the Hawks finally return home to close March against Utah, Minnesota and the LA Clippers.

April provides a couple of marquee home dates before the regular season comes to an end. The Hawks host the Knicks on April 6 in an NBC matchup before welcoming Boston on April 9 for their final regular-season home game.

Atlanta will then close the 2026-27 regular season on the road against Cleveland on Sunday, April 11.

Overall, the Hawks are scheduled for 19 weekend home games and 14 sets of back-to-backs, including five home-to-home sets.

With national television appearances, a seven-game homestand, a challenging six-game road trip and visits from some of the NBA’s biggest teams, Atlanta’s 2026-27 schedule provides no shortage of marquee dates.

But first things first.

The Hawks’ journey begins Oct. 21 in Orlando before basketball officially returns to State Farm Arena on Oct. 24 against the Houston Rockets.
