O’Brien Named ECHL Player of the Week After Big Three-Game Run

Atlanta Gladiators forward Jack O’Brien has been named the Inglasco ECHL Player of the Week for March 23–29 after a dominant three-game performance.

O’Brien totaled six points over the week, scoring five goals and adding an assist to lead the Gladiators’ offensive surge.

The 22-year-old made his presence felt in every game. He scored the game-winning goal in a 3–1 victory over Orlando on Thursday, followed it up with a two-goal, one-assist performance in another 3–1 win against the Solar Bears on Friday, and capped the week with two more goals in a 6–3 win over Jacksonville on Saturday.

It marked one of O’Brien’s most productive stretches of the season and helped power Atlanta through a strong run of play.

A native of Denver, Colorado, O’Brien has been a key contributor throughout the season. He has recorded 48 points (27 goals, 21 assists) in 54 games split between Atlanta and Iowa, continuing to establish himself as a reliable scoring option.

O’Brien began building his professional résumé last season with the Iowa Heartlanders, where he notched 17 points (seven goals, 10 assists) in 35 games during his rookie campaign.

Before turning pro, O’Brien put together an impressive junior career. He totaled 194 points (63 goals, 131 assists) in 255 career games with Portland of the Western Hockey League, while also adding seven points (one goal, six assists) in 23 games with Lincoln of the United States Hockey League.

His recent recognition also comes with an added impact off the ice.

On behalf of O’Brien, a case of pucks will be donated to an Atlanta youth hockey organization by Inglasco, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since the company began sponsoring the award during the 2000–01 season, more than 53,000 pucks have been donated to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.

The Gladiators will look to carry that momentum into their next matchup as they hit the road Thursday to face Greenville and renew the I-85 rivalry with the Swamp Rabbits at Bon Secours Wellness Arena. Puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m., with coverage beginning at 6:45 p.m. on the Gladiators Broadcast Network.

Atlanta then returns home Friday night to host Greenville once again at Gas South Arena for Golf Night, continuing a key stretch in the schedule as the team pushes forward late in the season.
