Hawks Stay Hot, Snyder Hits 500 in Style

The Atlanta Hawks kept rolling at home Saturday night, knocking off the Sacramento Kings 123-113 at State Farm Arena, and the win meant a little more for head coach Quin Snyder.

Snyder secured his 500th career victory, becoming the 41st coach in NBA history to hit the milestone and just the sixth active coach to do it. The Hawks made sure it came in style, extending their home dominance in the process.

Atlanta pushed its home winning streak to 12 games — the franchise’s longest single-season stretch since the 2014-15 campaign — and continued to handle Western Conference opponents, earning its 19th win against the West this season, the most since 2015-16.

The offense was once again in rhythm. The Hawks shot an even .500 from the field (45-of-90), dished out 34 assists, and recorded 10 steals. It marked their league-leading 45th game this season with 30+ assists and their 37th game with double-digit steals. When Atlanta is active defensively like that, the results follow — now 27-10 when they record 10 or more steals.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker led the way with a game-high 27 points, doing it efficiently across the board — 7-of-14 from the field, 4-of-9 from three, and a perfect 9-of-9 at the line. He added five rebounds, eight assists, and a season-high four steals. It marked his fifth career game with at least four steals and his first since December 2023.

Alexander-Walker continues to put together a career season. He extended his streak to 44 straight games scoring in double figures and notched his 70th such game of the season — among the highest totals in the league. From deep, he also made history, knocking down his 225th three-pointer of the year to pass Kyle Korver and Mookie Blaylock for fourth-most in a single season in franchise history. At the line, he’s been just as reliable, shooting 90.3% on the season, one of the top marks in the NBA.

Jalen Johnson stuffed the stat sheet with 26 points and 10 assists, adding five rebounds in another all-around performance. The outing marked his 44th double-double of the season, ranking among the league leaders. He also reached a milestone, recording his 1,000th career assist and becoming just the 15th player in franchise history to total 3,500+ points, 1,500+ rebounds, and 1,000+ assists. Johnson got there faster than anyone in team history — doing it in just 250 games — and is the second-youngest to reach those numbers.

CJ McCollum added 22 points and five assists, continuing his consistent scoring with his 30th 20+ point game of the season.

Down low, Jock Landale delivered one of his best performances of the year, finishing with 19 points and a career-high 13 rebounds to go along with four assists and two blocks. It marked his ninth double-double of the season and the 15th of his career.

Rookie Zaccharie Risacher chipped in 13 points off the bench, giving Atlanta another solid boost from its second unit and marking his 30th double-digit scoring game of the season.

For Sacramento, DeMar DeRozan led the way with 22 points, while Maxime Raynaud added 18 points and 10 rebounds off the bench.

Atlanta’s strong March continues — now 12-2 on the month — and the momentum doesn’t stop. The Hawks are right back at it tonight, hosting the Boston Celtics at State Farm Arena with tipoff set for 7:30 p.m.
