Atlanta United is sending talent across the globe once again.
Six players from Atlanta United have received national team call-ups for the March 23–31 FIFA international window, with Miguel Almirón, Luke Brennan, Matías Galarza, Santiago Pita, Cooper Sanchez, and Adyn Torres all set to represent their respective countries.
It’s another sign of the club’s growing presence on the international stage — from established veterans to rising young talent making their mark.
Leading the group is Miguel Almirón, who continues to be a key figure for Paraguay. He’ll be joined by teammate Matías Galarza as the national team prepares for its first FIFA World Cup appearance since 2010. Paraguay is set for a pair of high-level friendlies, facing Greece on March 27 in Athens before taking on Morocco on March 31 in France.
For Almirón, it’s business as usual on the international stage. The midfielder has been one of Paraguay’s most consistent contributors, starting 66 of his 73 appearances while tallying nine goals and seven assists since his debut in 2015. Galarza continues to build his role with the national team as well, earning 13 appearances so far with two goals and one assist — both goals coming during World Cup qualifying play.
While the veterans continue to lead, Atlanta’s younger players are also getting valuable opportunities.
Luke Brennan will join the United States Under-21 Men’s National Team for a training camp in South Korea. The U.S. will face Japan’s U-21 squad on March 27 and Korea Republic’s U-23 team on March 31, giving Brennan a chance to compete against strong international opposition. He’s already built a solid résumé at the youth level, with 12 appearances, one goal, and three assists for the U-20 team, including a run to the quarterfinals at the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
Santiago Pita is also heading into international duty, joining Venezuela’s U-20 side for a training camp in Porlamar. The 18-year-old has already made three appearances and scored once for Venezuela at the U-20 level, while also gaining experience within the U.S. youth system earlier in his development.
Cooper Sanchez continues his rise as one of Atlanta’s promising Homegrown players. He’s been called up to the United States Under-18 Men’s National Team for the 2026 Torneio Internacional de Lisboa in Portugal. The U.S. is scheduled to face Iceland, Morocco, and host nation Portugal during the tournament — a strong test for the young midfielder. Sanchez has already made 10 appearances with the U-17 national team and featured in the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup, showing his ability to compete on the international stage.
Adyn Torres rounds out the group, earning a call-up to Puerto Rico’s senior national team. He’ll have the opportunity to make his first appearance as Puerto Rico takes on Guam on March 25. Torres has previously represented the United States at the youth level, and this call-up marks a new chapter in his international career.
For Atlanta United, moments like this highlight the depth and development within the club. From seasoned internationals like Almirón to emerging prospects like Sanchez and Brennan, the pipeline continues to produce players capable of competing at multiple levels of the game.
It also presents a challenge.
With six players away on international duty, Atlanta will need to rely on its depth during the FIFA window. But it’s a trade-off every club welcomes — because it means your players are performing at a level that demands global attention.
For the Five Stripes, it’s another reminder that the badge carries weight well beyond Atlanta.
