Raptors Pull Away Late to Top Hawks at State Farm Arena

The Atlanta Hawks fell 109-97 to the Toronto Raptors on Friday night at State Farm Arena and were unable to overcome a late fourth-quarter push in front of 16,340 fans.

Both teams were tied 26-26 after the opening quarter before Atlanta edged ahead 53-44 at halftime. The Hawks’ first-half energy was fueled by Jalen Johnson, who finished with 21 points and seven rebounds, and Nickeil Alexander-Walker, who added 20 points on 7-of-14 shooting.

Toronto stormed back in the second half behind Brandon Ingram’s 20 points and Immanuel Quickley’s perimeter shooting. The Raptors outscored Atlanta 65-44 after the break, capitalizing on turnovers and clutch shooting to secure the win.

Despite the loss, Atlanta delivered several notable individual performances. Dyson Daniels continued to make defensive history, recording a steal for the 61st consecutive game to tie Doc Rivers (1985–86) for the longest streak in franchise history and the eighth-longest in NBA history. Daniels stuffed the stat sheet with seven points, eight rebounds, eight assists, one block, and that record-tying steal in 35 minutes.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker stayed hot offensively, finishing with 20 points on 7-of-14 shooting, including 3-of-6 from beyond the arc. The Virginia Tech product added three assists and two rebounds, marking his ninth straight game scoring in double figures — tying the longest such streak of his career.

Jalen Johnson led all scorers with 21 points on 8-of-14 shooting, adding seven rebounds, four assists, and one steal in 33 minutes. It was Johnson’s 40th career game with at least 20 points, another sign of his growing consistency as a scoring option.

Off the bench, Onyeka Okongwu brought his usual energy, pulling down a game-high 11 rebounds to go with seven points and one steal in 26 minutes. The effort marked his 63rd career game with double-digit rebounds.

Kristaps Porzingis made his presence felt defensively, swatting a season-high four shots while also contributing 17 points, seven rebounds, and three assists in 30 minutes.

For Toronto, Brandon Ingram paced the Raptors with 20 points, six rebounds, and four assists, while Immanuel Quickley added 18 points, six assists, and three steals, hitting 3-of-7 from deep.

The Hawks (now 5–4) will look to bounce back as they take on the Los Angeles Lakers at home tonight. Tipoff is set for 8 p.m. at State Farm Arena.
