Seven Atlanta United players have been called up to represent their respective national teams during the October FIFA window. Miguel Almirón, Ronald Hernández, Saba Lobjanidze, Enea Mihaj, Alexey Miranchuk, and Bartosz Slisz will all join their national sides for international duty from Oct. 6–14. Additionally, Cooper Sanchez has been called into the U.S. U-17 Men’s National Team training camp in Fayetteville, Ga., from Oct. 6–10, and is expected to rejoin the club in time for this weekend’s match at Inter Miami CF.
Meanwhile, Luke Brennan remains away with the U.S. U-20 Men’s National Team at the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile. The U.S. advanced to the Round of 16 and will face Italy on Oct. 9 at 3:30 p.m. ET.
Almirón rejoins Paraguay after helping his country clinch its first FIFA World Cup berth since 2010 during September’s CONMEBOL qualifiers. Paraguay will face Japan on Oct. 10 and South Korea on Oct. 14. Since his 2015 debut, Almirón has started 62 of his 69 appearances, tallying eight goals and six assists.
Hernández will link up with Venezuela for friendlies against Argentina on Oct. 10 in Miami and Belize on Oct. 14 in Chicago. The defender has recorded one goal and three assists in 33 appearances for La Vinotinto.
Lobjanidze joins Georgia for a pair of 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers at Spain on Oct. 11 and at Türkiye on Oct. 14. Georgia currently sits second in Group E with three points. The winger has earned 41 caps and scored four goals since debuting in 2017.
Mihaj has been called up by Albania for a World Cup qualifier at Serbia on Oct. 11 and a friendly against Jordan on Oct. 14. Albania sits second in Group K with eight points. The defender has 19 international appearances since his 2018 debut.
Miranchuk returns to the Russian National Team for two friendlies — at Iran on Oct. 10 and at home against Bolivia on Oct. 14. The midfielder has made 47 appearances and scored nine goals since joining the national side in 2015.
Sanchez will participate in the final U.S. U-17 training camp before the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar (Nov. 3–27). The midfielder has made seven appearances for the U-17s under head coach Gonzalo Segares.
Slisz joins Poland for a home friendly against New Zealand on Oct. 9 and a World Cup qualifier at Lithuania on Oct. 12. Poland currently sits second in Group G with 10 points through five matches. Slisz has earned 19 caps and one goal for Poland since his 2021 debut.
Atlanta United (5-15-12, 27 points) returns to MLS action Saturday, Oct. 11 when it travels to face Inter Miami CF at Chase Stadium (7:30 p.m. ET). The club will then close out the season with its final home match on Saturday, Oct. 18 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
