Naz Hillmon Makes History as Kia WNBA Sixth Player of the Year

The WNBA today announced that Atlanta Dream forward Naz Hillmon has been named the 2025 Kia WNBA Sixth Player of the Year — the first player in franchise history to claim the honor.

Hillmon’s recognition is the perfect cap to a breakout season defined by growth, grit, and undeniable impact off the bench. After averaging 5.4 points and 4.8 rebounds in 2024, she elevated her game across the board in 2025 — posting 8.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per contest. Perhaps most impressive was her perimeter evolution, knocking down 53 three-pointers after hitting just one across her first three seasons in the league.

Coming off the bench in 27 games, Hillmon quickly became the WNBA’s most dangerous reserve. Among players who logged at least 20 games as a sub, she led the league in plus-minus (+5.7), ranked second in rebounds (4.9), and fifth in points (8.0), all while shooting an efficient 49.4 percent from the floor and 35.2 percent from deep.

Her reliability was unmatched. Hillmon appeared in all 44 games this season, extending her streak to 150 consecutive appearances — a new Dream record and the third-longest active run in the WNBA. She finished second overall in the league in plus-minus (+7.6 per game, +335 total) and led Atlanta in net rating swing (+13.4). And when Hillmon scored 15 or more, the Dream went a perfect 5-0 — proof of her game-changing presence in critical moments.

The season was full of defining performances: a career-high 21 points with five threes and a dagger game-winner at Dallas on July 30, a 15-rebound battle against Las Vegas, and multiple double-doubles that fueled Atlanta’s historic 30-win campaign.

This honor comes just a week after Hillmon was named the 2025 Associated Press Sixth Player of the Year, making her the first Dream player to win either award. Now, she stands as one of the league’s most dynamic and dependable contributors — and a key piece of Atlanta’s rise.
