The Atlanta Falcons announced a round of roster moves as the team continues shaping its lineup ahead of the regular season.
Atlanta released 11 players, parting ways with offensive lineman Matthew Cindric, quarterback Ben DiNucci, running back Elijah Dotson, defensive lineman Morgan Fox, cornerback Lamar Jackson, tight end Nikola Kalinic, edge rusher Ronnie Perkins, safety Josh Thompson, linebackers Caleb Johnson and Nick Kubitz, and wide receivers Jesse Matthews and Quincy Skinner Jr.
In addition to those cuts, the Falcons placed offensive lineman Jake Hanson on the reserve/injured list.
The moves bring Atlanta closer to the required 53-man roster as the team prepares for its season opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, September 7th, at 1:00 PM inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium. With roster spots at a premium, the Falcons’ coaching staff continues to make tough decisions while solidifying the group that will take the field in Week 1.
