Falcons Add Hanson, Harrison Jr. to Roster

 

The Atlanta Falcons have signed center Jake Hanson and safety Ronnie Harrison Jr., the team announced Monday. In corresponding moves, the Falcons released offensive lineman Michael Gonzalez and placed cornerback Grayland Arnold on the reserve/injured list.

Hanson, 6-foot-4, 303 pounds, was originally selected by the Green Bay Packers in the sixth round (208th overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft out of Oregon. Over five NFL seasons with the Packers (2020-22) and New York Jets (2023-24), he appeared in 30 games with seven starts. A native of Eureka, Calif., Hanson started 49 games at center for the Ducks from 2016-19 and was twice named to the AP Pac-12 All-Conference second team.

Harrison, 6-foot-2, 207 pounds, entered the league as a third-round pick (93rd overall) of the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2018 NFL Draft after a standout career at Alabama. In seven NFL seasons with the Jaguars (2018-19), Cleveland Browns (2020-22) and Indianapolis Colts (2023-24), he has played in 84 games with 48 starts, compiling 238 tackles (156 solo), 10 tackles for loss, 25 passes defensed, seven interceptions, 6.5 sacks and two defensive touchdowns. The Tallahassee, Fla., native was a key contributor in three seasons at Alabama, recording 177 tackles (110 solo), 24 passes defensed, seven interceptions and 3.5 sacks in 44 games.
