College Park, stand up!
Big congrats are in order for College Park Skyhawks standout Nikola Đurišić, who’s officially making the leap from the G League to the NBA. The Atlanta Hawks announced today that they’ve signed the 6’8” forward/guard, solidifying a major step forward for the young star. While the terms of the deal weren’t disclosed (you know how that goes), the message is clear—Nikola is headed to the league!
Đurišić has been putting in that work all season with the College Park Skyhawks, appearing in 32 games (three starts) and averaging a solid 10.5 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 3.5 assists in just under 23 minutes a game. Not bad for a rookie season in the G League!
Atlanta fans got their first glimpse of Nikola when the Hawks snagged his draft rights in a three-team trade with Miami and Houston on June 27, 2024, after selecting him No. 43 overall in this year’s NBA Draft.
But his grind didn’t start here. Before touching down in Georgia, Đurišić was showing out in Serbia. He starred with Mega during the 2023-24 Adriatic League season, putting up 15.4 points (good for sixth in the league), 2.9 boards, 3.5 dimes, and 1.2 steals per game—all while shooting a strong 46.3% from the field.
And let’s not forget the accolades: 2022-23 Adriatic League Top Prospect, U19 Adriatic Junior League MVP, and MVP of the 2021-22 EuroLeague Adidas Next Generation Tournament. This young man’s résumé speaks for itself.
Now, he’s bringing that international flavor, next-gen hustle, and undeniable potential to the Hawks’ roster. Another W for development. Another W for the city.
From College Park to State Farm Arena—let’s get it, Nikola!
