You won’t believe how the Atlanta Vibe dominated in their latest match against the Vegas Thrill. Sweeping them for the third time this season, the Vibe showed they’re the team to beat headed into the playoffs. Their offense was on fire, tearing through the Thrill’s defense with powerful kills. The Vibe’s back row held their ground too, digging up attacks left and right. With their final regular season game coming up, the Vibe look playoff ready. This thrilling match showed why they’re serious championship contenders.
Vibe Dominate Thrill for Season Sweep Before Playoffs
The Vibe came into Sunday’s match ready to dominate and finish their season series strong against Vegas. Led by outside hitter Leah Edmond, the Vibe offense was firing on all cylinders. Edmond pounded 12 kills with only a single error, hitting an efficient .220. Middle blocker Shelly Fanning was also efficient, hitting .300 with no errors.
When the Vibe bench came in, they made an immediate impact. Opposite hitter Yossiana Pressley dug five balls in just one set, while defensive specialist Kamaile Hiapo and setter Whitney Bower each served an ace to aid Atlanta’s strong service pressure. In the end, the Vibe racked up six aces, matching their season high.
On the defensive side, outside hitter Leketor Member-Meneh and libero Morgan Hentz anchored the back row, digging 12 balls apiece. Setter Marlie Monserez also contributed 10 digs to notch her 14th double-double this season. Between Member-Meneh, Hentz and Monserez, the Vibe tallied 34 digs, outpacing Vegas’ 26.
With their overpowering offense and stifling defense, the Vibe completed their third sweep over the Thrill this season. Atlanta dominated the series, going 4-0 against Vegas with a 12-1 set record. The Vibe have clinched the top seed in the league and look poised to make a deep playoff run.
With the playoffs around the corner, Atlanta close out the regular season at home against Columbus on Thursday before preparing for the postseason. After such a dominant win, the Vibe seem ready to take on all comers through the postseason.
