Coming off a 2-0 victory on Sunday against Philadelphia, Atlanta United defeated CF Montreal 1-0 Saturday night at Stade Saputo.
In the 54th minute Brooks Lennon scored his third goal of the season and the team kept its sixth clean sheet to earn its second road victory of the year. The goal marked the first time Lennon has scored in back-to-back matches in his career.
Atlanta held its opponent to one shot on target in back-to-back games for the first time in club history.
“It was a great performance. I’m very proud of the players. They did a great, great job, especially in the first half.” said Head Coach Gonzalo Pineda.
Atlanta United (9-5-8, 35 points) returns to action when it travels to face New England Revolution on Wednesday, July 12 at Gillette Stadium (7:30 p.m. EDT.)
