Atlanta United defeated rivals Orlando City SC 1-0 Wednesday night at Exploria Stadium. The clean-sheet victory marked the first time the team won consecutive matches this season, and Atlanta ‘s first win at Exploria Stadium since 2019.

In the 72nd minute Thiago Almada scored the game winning goal resulting in his sixth goal of the season, and his second-consecutive match with a goal.

Andrew Gutman grabbed his second assist of the season, marking his second-consecutive match with an assist, while Raúl Gudiño recorded his first clean sheet with the Five Stripes.
Atlanta United are on a hunt for the Audi 2022 MLS Cup Playoffs. They are currently in ninth place of the Eastern Conference with the playoffs spot still within reach.

“It’s the timing of it, it puts us in a very good position to fight for a playoff spot. We need to continue. Nothing is done yet but the spirits and the passion the players are putting on the field is very good.” said Atlanta United head coach Gonzalo Pineda.
