Atlanta United announced Wednesday it has suspended Josef Martinez for one game for conduct detrimental to the team. Martinez will not participate in team activity this week and will not be available for selection on Saturday against Toronto FC.

On Sunday Atlanta United fell 2-1 to Portland Timbers at Providence Park. Martínez scored his eighth goal of the season after coming on in the second half.
Atlanta (8-13-9, 33 points) returns home to play Toronto FC on Saturday, Sept. 10 (7:30 p.m., Martinez is scheduled to re-join the team on Monday, Sept. 12.
