Preseason Week 2: Falcons Lose to Jets 24-16

The New York Jets defeated the Atlanta Falcons, 24-16, in preseason Week 2.

 

Atlanta starting quarterback Marcus Mariota completed six of 10 passes for 132 yards with one touchdown. Atlanta rookie Desmond Ridder completed 10 of his 13 pass attempts for 143 yards while helping his team to a 16-3 lead at the half.

After blowing the lead Atlanta struggles came in the form of the third-string offense that was shut down by the Jets defense.

Sorry y’all had to sit through that second half.,”  said head coach Arthur Smith. “But we’ll get better. You find out a lot about young guys. I mean, some of the guys, you know, you live with the first-time mistakes.”
