Atlanta United defeats Charlotte FC

In front of 43,055 fans Atlanta United defeated Charlotte FC 2-1 Sunday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Josef Martínez scored his first goal of the season and his 90th career regular season goal.

In the 96th minute, Jake Mulraney scored his first goal of the season and his first game-winning goal with Atlanta United.

Designated Player Thiago Almada made his club debut and Marcelino Moreno recorded his second assist of the season.

 

“…The reaction from my team is what I love. The reaction by the players, on the field and on the bench. That was a massive positive. That passion, that intensity winning duels and tackles, sending the message but also continue playing. That’s what we saw at the end. It’s a good reward to see that goal from Jake Mulraney to win the game.”  Head Coach Gonzalo Pineda said after the game.
