Atlanta defeated Nashville SC 2-0 Saturday night at Mercedes-Benz Stadium behind two goals from the Argentine midfielder Pity Martínez. Martinez is one of eight players in club history to record a brace in a match. Across all competitions, Atlanta’s record is 24-1-3 in matches where a player scores a brace. Brad Guzan recorded his 37th MLS clean sheet with Atlanta on Saturday, which is tied for the league lead since the start of 2017 (MLS Regular Season and Playoffs).
With the win Stephen Glass became the 15th MLS interim head coach to win his first match in charge and will face former Monterrey manager Diego Alonso when the five stripes returns to action Wednesday night at Inter Miami CF Stadium in Fort Lauderdale for the first ever meeting between the clubs. The match will be televised on FOX Sports South at 8 p.m. ET.
