On Easter Sunday Cameron’s family issued a statement via the MAJIC 107.5/97.5 Twitter and Instagram.
“On behalf of the family of Ryan Cameron, we are asking for your fervent prayers as he recovers from emergency surgery that took place earlier this week. We ask for privacy during this difficult time. Thank you for your love and concern.”

It was early reported that Cameron was recovering from a heart attack however MAJIC 107.5 posted on Instagram an update,
“Update: The family of Ryan Cameron wanted to make it known that there was NO heart attack, contrary to news outlets & sources. Please keep Ryan & the family in your prayers.”

Cameron is an Atlanta native and father of three. He has been apart of the Atlanta radio scene since the early 1990s, working with both V-103 and Hot 107.9. He is the voice of the Atlanta Hawks and Falcons. Cameron is the recipient of two NAB Marconi Awards and also a two-time Emmy Award winner and member of the Georgia Radio Hall of Fame.
