The College Park Skyhawks took down the Capital City Go-Go 128-112 at home on Wednesday night. The win marks the first time the Skyhawks have had two consecutive wins of the season. The back to back win marked the first time the team is above the .500 mark (7-6) this season.

The highlight of the night was at the end of the 3rd quarter, two way player Brandon Goodwin stepped away from half court and shot a buzzer beater giving the Skyhawks a 92-87 lead.

In the fourth quarter Capital City could not withstand the defensive heat. The Skyhawks close on 6-0 run, and walked away with another home win.

Five Skyhawks players scored in double digits. Cat Barber led the team in scoring 28 points.

Brandon Goodwin added 22 points. Marcus Derrickson gathered 21 points. Nick Ward and Tahjere McCall put 16 and 10 points, on the board to round out the scoring effort.
“We talked about taking care of business winning at home,” said Head Coach Noel Gillespie at the post game presser. “Beating a division opponent. We are 1-1 right now (over) Capital City but 2-1 at home and 2-1 overall. Just in the locker room it’s a good feeling. Winning is fun, winning is contagious, winning taste good…”

The Skyhawks head on the road to face the Swarm this Friday, before returning home to play the Windy City Bulls on Dec. 17. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Gateway Center Arena @ College Park.
