Atlanta United unable to Conquer Toronto FC

It’s surprising that a three year old team has already gained two 2019 trophies on the shelf (Campeones Cup and the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup). It was one trophy the Five Stripes could not clutch.

Atlanta United season came to a disappointing ending after being conquered by the Toronto FC Reds 2-1 in the Audi 2019 MLS Cup Playoffs Eastern Conference Final on Wednesday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

The win for the Reds marks the teams third appearance against Seattle in the MLS Cup Final in the last four years.

Some may say the Atlanta Sports curse is back. I disagree because The Five Stripes has had a impressive season from consistently breaking attendance records to breaking franchise records. This is big for a young Atlanta team. To say they are the best team in Atlanta is a understatement which is why they have gain the name “Kings of the South”. With that being said, soccer has gained a new fan, me! Even with this loss Atlanta United are still winners.
