Uncasville, Conn. – Brittney Sykes scored 14 of her season-high 18 points in the fourth quarter but the Atlanta Dream dropped an 86-76 decision to the Connecticut Sun (9-1) Friday night at the Mohegan Sun Arena.
Trailing by as much as 22 points, the Dream (2-6) closed out the game by outscoring the Sun 28-21 in the fourth quarter, cutting the deficit to five, but Atlanta could not get any closer the rest of the way.
Jessica Breland was one of five Atlanta Dream scorers in double figures, tying a season-high of 17 points. Tiffany Hayes added 12 points and Montgomery also scored 12 points for Atlanta. Montgomery has now hit at least one three-point field goal in 13 straight regular season games dating back to August 9, 2018. Nia Coffey notched 10 points Friday evening.
