ARLINGTON, Texas – The Atlanta Dream (1-5) led the Dallas Wings at halftime of Saturday night’s game, a four-point lead they were unable to hold onto as they fell to Dallas 71-61.
The Wings (1-5) earned their first win of the season on Saturday and snapped a seven-game losing streak with their win against the Dream.
The Wings took more shots than the Dream in the first half, but Atlanta’s efficiency helped them keep a 32-28 lead over Dallas heading into halftime. Elizabeth Williams went a perfect 4-4 from the field and 4-4 from the free throw line in the first half, picking up 12 of her 16 points.
Dallas outscored Atlanta in the second half 43-29, helping them take as much as a 12-point lead that the Dream was unable to overcome. The Dream saw 12 turnovers in the second half, and was both outscored and out-rebounded by the Wings, helping Dallas finish with a 10-point win.
The Dream return to Atlanta for Wednesday’s midday matchup against the Indiana Fever at 11:00 a.m. at State Farm Arena.
