Deontay Wilder brings excitement back to boxing

Deontay Wilder aka The Bronze Bomber delivered a pretty hard right hook on the jaw of Dominic Breazeale in the first round, causing him to plummet to the floor in a discombobulated daze on Saturday night at the Barclays Center, in Brooklyn.

Just as soon as the fight began it was over in 137 seconds. I literally blinked twice when the referee stopped the fight and Wilder retained his belt and championship title for the ninth consecutive time.

I found this fight to be quite entertaining and yet reminiscent of the old Mike Tyson hayday when Tyson would KO his opponents sometimes within seconds of entering the ring. Just in case you forgot, click play.

The wins keep coming for Wilder. On  Tuesday night at the 40th Annual Sports Emmy Award ceremony in New York City. Wilder earned two Sports Emmy Awards for his SHOWTIME Sports original documentary series ALL ACCESS  Wilder vs Fury.

Congratulations to Deontay Wilder!
