On Opening night Wednesday the Atlanta Hawks defeated the Houston Rockets 107-117 with four Hawks scoring in 20+points (John Collins scoring a game-high 24 points, followed by Trae Young (23), De’Andre Hunter (22), and Dejounte Murray (20).

The Hawks returned to home court on Friday and defeated the Orlando Magic 98-108.

The win marks the third time in four seasons Atlanta has opened its season with back-to-back wins.
The Hawks had three players net 20-or-more points for the second straight game: Trae YoungĀ led the team in scoring 25 points and 13 assists, pouring in 17 points in the third quarter, and tied for the fourth-highest third quarter scoring effort of his career. Ā John CollinsĀ finished with 23 points, a game-high 13 rebounds and three steals in 36 minutes of action, surpassing Mookie Blaylock for 15th on the Hawks all-time defensive rebounds list (1,735) and markingĀ the fourth time in his career heās had at least 20 points, 10 boards and three steals. While Dejounte Murray collected 20 points, 9 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals becoming the fourth Hawk since 1973-74 to finish a game with at least 20 points, 9 boards, 9 assists and 4 steals.
