The Atlanta Falcons beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 28-12 in their final preseason game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Saturday.

Rookie quarterback Desmond Ridder threw for 185 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions, including a two-yard touchdown pass to rookie RB Tyler Allgeier, while Atlanta’s hometown running back Caleb Huntley led the way with 86 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries.

After a overturned touchdown by the officials, third-year pro Quadree Ollison runs in it with a one yard touchdown to lift the team to a 14-6 lead.

Tyler Allgeier got his 2nd Touchdown and extended the lead

It was a rough start with Ridder throwing a interception on the game’s first play. In the end the Falcons displayed dominance on offense and defense. With the win Arthur Smith became the first head coach to win a preseason game in the five-year old Mercedes Benz building.

“I think this team, we’ve got a chip on our shoulder. We’ve got something to prove. So, I think we’ve been competitive from day one. Like I was saying, the periphery opponents can say what they want. They can rank us 40th roster and 42nd coaching staff out of 32. We don’t care. We’re going to go compete and do our best. We’ve got a lot of work ahead of us, but to get ready to roll for September 11th, when New Orleans comes here.” said Falcons head coach Arthur Smith

Next Up:  The dirty birds will face the New Orleans Saints in their 2022 NFL season opener at noon on September 11, 2022  at the Mercedes Benz stadium.
